Veterinary Dentistry: Our dental services include advanced teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, dental extractions and oral surgery.
Puppy and Kitten Care: Our hospital aims to make the veterinary process as fear-free as possible, even from a young age. We provide complete care for puppies and kittens with a focus on wellness and client education.
Surgical Services: Our hospital offers a variety of in-house surgeries preformed in a safe, AAHA-accredited surgery-dedicated suite. Our surgical procedures range from pet spays and neuters to mass removals to exploratory abdominal procedures. We have board-certified specialists that come in-house for our more advanced procedures.
Anesthesia: We use the safest equipment and anesthetics available to minimized anesthetic complications for all patients, especially older or high-risk patients. The patient is provided IV fluids during the procedure. The patient's vital signs are monitored by a Veterinary Technician during all anesthetic procedures.
Integrative/Alternative Medicine: At Erie Animal Hospital, we aim to help animals in every way possible. We offer the integration of eastern and western medicine for the animals that may benefit from a different approach.
Digital Radiology/Ultrasound: Our on-site, modern digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. We also offer in-house ultrasound to use when additional imaging diagnostics are needed.
Microchipping: We offer the implantation of microchips to be used for identification and return of lost pets.
Internal Medicine: Our veterinary team stays up to date with frequent Continuing Education Programs in the latest treatments and prevention for the variety of diseases that could affect the lifestyle of your pet. We also work with board-certified specialists for more advanced procedures.
Individualized Pain Management: We know that pain is a very serious problem for your pet. It makes them uncomfortable and also makes the body heal more slowly and less effectively. To help with pain management, we offer a variety of treatments to assist the pets.
Senior Care: We understand that your aging pet deserves special care. As your pet ages, it is more likely that health problems could arise. Our staff is equipped to help with your pets aging process. We also offer a special Senior Month in September focusing on your pet's aging process.
Hospice Care: We are dedicated to keeping your pet as comfortable as possible in their later stages of life. We are here to support you and help you with the difficult decisions that you may have to make. When you decide it is time to let your pet cross the Rainbow Bridge, we will be here to help you and your pet with that process.
Behavioral/Nutritional Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet’s nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance. We also provide guidance with the current recommendations with Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) and the grain-free diet. We offer behavior counseling to help with everything from fear to aggression.
Physical Rehabilitation: If your pet is recovering from an injury or from a major medical procedure, we offer physical rehabilitation to help get your pet back to normal as quickly as possible. Our doctors are able to create individual programs for each pet that include therapeutic exercises, massage therapy and therapeutic laser.
Acupuncture/Massage: We offer acupuncture as an alternative to traditional treatment modalities. Acupuncture is a safe and effective therapy that can be very beneficial in addressing a variety of different conditions. Acupuncture is very well tolerated in our animal patients and is often a very relaxing experience. Dr. Towner is licensed in small animal acupuncture and are happy to discuss whether this treatment would be appropriate for your pet. Therapeutic Massage is provided post-acupuncture to help with your pet's relaxation and to encourage blood flow.
Therapeutic Laser: We offer a class IV therapeutic laser to calm inflammation and enhance healing for a variety of different medical conditions.
Pharmacy: We maintain an inventory of pharmaceuticals, flea and tick products and heartworm preventative to meet the needs of you pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets and are able special order diets that we do not have in stock. We offer our pharmacy products to be delivered to you through our online pharmacy, Vetsource.
In Hospital Laboratory: Our advanced in-house laboratory facilities provide for analysis for serum blood chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, parasite testing, FELV/FIV testing and clotting profiles. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Pocket Pets, Rabbits, Exotics: Our hospital sees pets of all shapes and sizes and is equipped to help all of the animal in you family. Our staff is trained in proper handling of these unique pets including rabbits, pocket pets, ferrets, reptiles and some small birds.
